TISE Surfaces 2022

TISE 2022 Highlights

Posted on the 16/02/2022 by Karndean Designflooring

After spending three days showcasing our luxury vinyl flooring, SURFACES 2022 has officially ended. Part of The International Surface Event, SURFACES is the largest flooring event in North America and an exhibition that Karndean Designflooring has attended for more than a decade. If you weren’t able to make it to Las Vegas to attend the show in person, we’ve compiled highlights of our booth, including our most buzzed about new products and residential design drivers in 2022 and beyond.

At this year's show, we previewed our 2022 new product introductions, including new visuals and colors in our Korlok, Knight Tile and Opus ranges. The latest Korlok visuals are now available, with our Knight Tile updates launching this summer and our Opus commercial updates launching in the fall.

Chevron planks will be added to both the gluedown and rigid core formats of our Knight Tile range. These 48” x 9” planks allow for installers to easily incorporate pattern into the home or commercial environment with less installation time, as less cuts are required. These chevron planks will be available in Mid Limed Oak (shown below right) and Pale Limed Oak (shown above). In addition, other brand new designs including Scandinavian pines; natural, washed and limed oaks; and new stones that were developed from terrazzo and carrara marble will join Knight Tile in both gluedown and rigid core formats.

Attendees also got an exclusive preview of commercially focused textile-inspired, painted, geometric and terrazzo visuals that will join the Opus 20mil gluedown range later in 2022.

Residential Trends

Special guest Mina Starsiak Hawk of HGTV’s “Good Bones” spoke with our director of marketing Jenne Ross about upcoming residential trends, each with the foundation of blending the old with the new. These style “fusions” aren’t due to a lack of creativity but are instead the result of leaning into one’s personal tastes. It’s less about conforming and more about pulling from existing styles to create a new, unique take.

Since our beginning, Karndean Designflooring has always encouraged consumers to lean into their personal style preferences and create a floor design that captures those preferences – from blending multiple colors with the same design together in one layout, to framing a pattern with a border or adding a corresponding decorative border.

We highlighted four fusions you can look forward to seeing - including NaturaLuxe, NostalgiaCore, WanderMust and EclectiChic – and showcased Karndean floors that would fit these movements. We’ll be diving into more detail about each of these fusions in future blogs.

Mina was kind enough to do a meet and greet with show attendees following the presentation. Our thanks to Mina for joining us for a successful show!

We look forward to bringing you more than 40 new products throughout the year and seeing how your customers use these floors to create their own unique style!
