Our three-day fitting course is designed for experienced installers with intermediate or advanced ability looking to strengthen their design ability.
This course covers more sophisticated designflooring techniques, incorporating design strips and borders allowing you to confidently design and install intricate LVT designs.
This is the right course for you if you are an experienced fitter looking to expand your skills and knowledge into more complex and sophisticated design techniques. You will also have opportunity for discussions throughout the day outside of the course content.
Course schedule
Day 1
- Welcome and introduction
- Practical subfloor preparation morning led by external subfloor manufacturer
- Covering different types of subfloor, moisture control and smoothing compounds
- Lunch - supplied by Karndean
- Plywood and timber installation to training bays
Day 2
- 45 degree tile installation with perimeter border
- Incorporating design strips for grout effect and design borders
- Lunch - supplied by Karndean
- Demonstration of scribing and templating techniques
Day 3
- Introduction to herringbone: setting out and installation
- Herringbone designs with borders and obstacles (rad pipes, toilets, cirved shower trays, etc)
- Lunch - supplied by Karndean
- Overview of Versilay Instashield and Versilay Classic
- Demonstration of loose lay and rigid core (click-locking) floors
