Our three-day floor fitting course is designed for people looking to develop new skills using luxury vinyl flooring (LVT).
This is the right course for you if you have little or no experience installing LVT flooring, or you're looking to change career and want to start at a beginner level. You could already be in the flooring industry and would like to gain a basic level of understanding and installation of all Karndean formats in simple designs.
You will receive a complimentary toolkit with all the essentials you need for LVT installation.
Course schedule
Day 1
- Welcome and introduction
- Practical subfloor preparation morning led by external subfloor manufacturer
- Covering different types of subfloor, moisture control and smoothing compounds
- Lunch - supplied by Karndean
- Plywood and timber installation to training bays
Day 2
- Straight lay plank and tile installation
- Scribing techniques for straight lay
- Lunch - supplied by Karndean
- Templating
- Internal and external cutting techniques
Day 3
- Continuation of straight lay plank installation
- Intricate cutting techniques, including mitered borders
- Lunch - supplied by Karndean
- Scribing techniques for 45 degree plank installation
- Demonstration of loose lay and rigid core (click-locking) floors
