For 2023, Karndean is excited to launch a refresh of our LooseLay Longboard range. Originally introduced in 2016, this refresh builds on the brand’s versatility and durability with a collection of 20 timber inspired designs. The new range offers a choice of on-trend timber looks including fresh European-inspired oak designs and an exciting collection celebrating the distinctive characteristics of Australian species.

Design versatility and enduring good looks
Our LooseLay Longboard range complements our LooseLay Originals range features 18 wood-look planks and 12 stone-inspired tiles in eight thoughtfully curated collections. Our popular loose lay format features our unique K-Wave® friction grip backing which holds the product in place using a combination of weight and friction. This means there’s no clicking and no locking and only a minimal amount of Hi-Tack Pressure sensitive adhesive is required in most installations.
Transforming any space is fast and easy as LooseLay Longboard can be installed over most existing hard floors. At 250mm wide and 1.5m in length, the planks are the longest across our product range. Without the need for transition strips or expansion gaps, your chosen design can be seamlessly carried between rooms and throughout your space. As planks are identically sized across the collection, it provides the option to incorporate multiple colours of timbers into your floor design. The loose lay format also provides even more possibilities for laying planks in diagonal or herringbone designs to define and personalise your space.
Our acoustic performance is beautiful too
LooseLay Longboards are also ideal where you want to reduce noise transfer between floors or under stairs. Compared with hardwood, stone and laminate flooring, Karndean LooseLay is significantly quieter underfoot. It’s engineered to meet strict acoustic rating standards and delivers an impressive noise transfer reduction of 14dB.
