Stepping Towards a Meaningful Cause
STEPtember is more than just a walk in the park; it's a virtual challenge to achieve an astonishing 10,000 daily steps throughout September. The mission? To benefit research, treatment, services, and assistive technologies for those living with cerebral palsy. This endeavour perfectly embodies Karndean's commitment to not only engage with their community but to do so in a meaningful and impactful way.
Karndean's Unique Approach
What makes Karndean's participation in STEPtember truly stand out is the unique way in which they rallied their team members to the STEPtember cause. The entire company was divided into five "Houses," each named after a unique colour. Throughout September, employees in Australia and New Zealand enthusiastically participated in the “Karndean Step House Tournament”. Each team member was assigned to a specific house, and their daily steps were tracked to contribute to their house's step total. The competitive spirit was alive and well as these houses vied to see who could log the most steps.
But what made this challenge particularly special was the spirit of cooperation, support, and encouragement that permeated throughout the teams in each house. The teams quickly realised that the key to winning this challenge wasn't just individual dedication, but teamwork and communication.
It was a collective effort, with every member of each house contributing their steps, no matter how small, towards a shared goal of their ‘House’. It was a testament to how Karndean values the power of unity and community engagement.
